When an AHJ reviews an EV charging permit, NEC Article 625 is the section their plan reviewer checks. It governs the EV supply equipment (EVSE), its circuits, and protection — so it directly shapes what has to appear on your EV charging station permit design. Article 625 sets the rules for the EVSE and its circuits; Article 220 governs the service and feeder load calculations that prove your electrical service can carry the new charging load. Together they determine the conductor sizes, overcurrent protection, and service-upgrade-or-load-management call that a reviewer expects to see.
